DIY Work bench with electric lift.
Переглядів 2,4 тис.4 роки тому
I came across a free electric wheelchair lift on CL so I decided to built it into my new workbench. This saves my back while working on things like lawnmowers, snowblowers etc... It can lift up to 350lb and the bench is on caster wheels which really helps because my workshop is so small. Thanks for watching.
Chicken Tractor Build - Part 3 (Fencing, Roof, Wood Framing and more)
Переглядів 6 тис.4 роки тому
In this video I review everything else that was required to build this chicken tractor. I go over the wood framing of the coop, the fencing, water, food, solar and more. Unfortunately, I lost about a dozen video clips near the end of the build so I had to do some voice over work to help fill in the gaps. I hope you enjoy. Want to see the finished coop? Chicken Tractor Build - Part 2 (Metal Frame and wiring)
Переглядів 8 тис.4 роки тому
Years ago I built a chicken tractor that I had to roll around manually. It worked well but it was heavy and I got tired of pushing it around. So, I decided to build a new chicken tractor that uses electric wheelchair motors to move itself. This is the second video that explains how I built it. In this video I outline how I connected the motors together using a metal frame and also how the wirin...

Rustic bathroom counter from reclaimed lumber
Переглядів 11 тис.5 років тому
While we were renovating our 1890's farm house, I saved lots of rough cut lumber. There are boards of all width, thickness and length and also some thicker lumber that we saved from the walls. This project re-uses the thicker lumber and turns it into a rustic counter for our new bathroom. First thing was to remove our "temporary" counter setup. I got this sink/counter combo 4 years ago from Cra...

This is just a short video showing the features of the new tractor and giving a little bit of information about how I built it. I hope you enjoy it. Link to the Chicken Tractor V1.0: ua-cam.com/video/HfXy3MMn4vo/v-deo.html I have a 3 part video series of how I built this. See ...

Beneficial insects in your organic garden!

I just found this tomato horn worm in my garden that has been stung by Braconid Wasps. It becomes the host for the Braconid's eggs. These are very beneficial and should be left alone so they can hatch.

    Coup looks good. The food doesn't look so great. Where is the calcium so your chickens don't get their eggs stuck in them?

    Having now watched to the end, I can see why you have not come back to post in 3 years. paralysis by analysis. Stop trying to make something applicable to everybody, just make something that works for you. Best I can tell, this is the only motorized chicken coop at any scale on YT other than a single example of a ridiculously small yet ridiculously expensive commercial version. You did a great thing.

    Honest review of own design, warts and all. Useful, profitable innovation, shared for free. No "I talk for a living, Becky, thats what I do", or flat cap schtick. Who are you?? Please come back and post more videos. Actually .. nevermind ... if I were you I would frankly keep it to myself. people never appreciate true innovation. Just keep innovating for your enterprise, the smart ones of us will do the same. I just want to wish you well. The general population doesnt deserve you.

    I think it would be nice if you put “hydraulics” to raise and lower the coop of the ground instead of using that canvas edge

    WOW!! You are so brilliant! Thank you for sharing your chicken tractor construction. What a an amazing, safe homie for your chickens!! I also live rural & wanted to get chickens but didn’t, because like you, we have fox, vultures, coyotes etc…. and I didn’t want something to harm them. Did you get enough interest to make a video on constructing this? Have a beautiful, blessed day. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

    Awesome. I need to build one of these. I might pass on the powered part, cause I can easily push it and the parts would be expensive here, but the rest of the design is perfect.

    Did you put an air gap between the foil and the roof? That is required to make it work and would also be the proper channel to vent the eves up to the ridge vent.

    This is amazing!!!! I love it! My husband and I were dying laughing when you hit the remote control switch. Genius! I'm a techie and have been thinking of ways to incorporate technology with homesteading. Homesteading is going to be new to us and I can tell already I'll be a lazy homesteader when it comes down to being on a daily schedule to feed and water animals and move chicken tractors. I would add one more feature to the controller if possible and that is to have the chicken cooper move itself automatically daily! 😁😆

    Would you be able to run a small solar fence charger on this as well and run a hot wire a few times around the outside?? Or would that extra battery be too heavy for the wheelchair motors to take?

    • @FreeRangePeople
      @FreeRangePeople Рік тому

      You could probably do that. You would just need more battery power and more solar power.

    How did you level the walls w/ rough cut studs to hang drywall without wall looking wavy?

    • @FreeRangePeople
      @FreeRangePeople Рік тому

      For the exterior walls, I just build a new 2x4 wall inside of the old one. That made it easy to get straight and also was easy to pull new electrical. That also gave me extra space for added insulation. I removed all of the rough lumber for the interior walls and just built those new. Thanks for watching
